Public Action for Water, Energy and the Environment ECODIT	*January 2010*

Mahara is contracted by ECODIT to work on a survey to capture the best practices of past and ongoing Global Development Alliances (GDA), Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Jordan. This survey comes under USAID’s program entitled: “Public Action for Water, Energy and the Environment”. The 5 year program aims to influence and change behavior of Jordanians at all levels in favor of the environment.

Mahara is contracted by MWH to conduct a Preliminary Social Assessment and Social Impact Assessment for the Zarqa Governorate Water System Restructuring and Rehabilitation Project.
E-TVET Awareness-Raising Campaign Prisma Advertising	*December 2009*

Mahara is contracted by Prisma to work on the project entitled: “E-TVET Awareness-Raising Campaign” that aims to establish a baseline data on public perception of TVET occupational opportunities in Jordan. The baseline data shall be established through and “Attitudes & Perceptions Survey” designed and carried out by Mahara to guide the media campaign in selecting the target audience and areas for intervention for optimum effectiveness.
Child Friendly Cities and Communities Research Project UNICEF	December 2009
Mahara is contracted by UNICEF to work on the Child Friendly Cities and Communities Research Project. Mahara’s duties will include: reviewing current materials available on the research, adapting the available tools on “community assessment” and “governance tools” to the local context and providing a critique of these tools. Providing a final report.

Mahara is contracted by RSCN to conduct a socio-economic assessment study for Protected Areas and Special Conservation Areas in the Jordan Rift Valley.
Rapid Community Appraisal (RCA) of twelve neighborhoods across Jordan International Youth Foundation (IYF)	June 2009
Mahara was contracted to conduct a demand-driven bottoms-up Rapid Community Appraisal (RCA) of twelve neighborhoods across Jordan. The outcomes of the RCA will be used to guide the development of ‘Community Action Plans’ that include the prioritized needs of each area with proposed interventions, activities, and approaches that will best address the needs of youth in the target areas with a special emphasis on labor market, youth-friendly services, and enhancing community infrastructure to enhance youth participation in public life. This program is funded by USAID-Jordan.
KAP Survey related to gender-based violence against women among service provider in the Ministry of Health United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)	October 2008
Mahara was contracted to conduct a survey that captures the knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) of service providers in the ‎health system of the Ministry of Health regarding gender-based violence (GBV). The assessment will provide guidance on areas in need for intervention on the subject of GBV and also provide insight on potential challenges that may affect the integration of protocols in the health sector.
social work practice and education in Jordan British Council – Jordan	April 2008
Mahara was contracted to conduct an assessment on the current situation and best practices of social work practice and education in Jordan in line with international standards to produce evidence based paper. Mahara came up with key recommendations that would lead national efforts in the professionalization and development of social work in Jordan.

Mapping of Inequity related to Persons with Disabilities in Jordan ESCWA (United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia)	January 2008
Mahara was contracted by ESCWA to develop a structured and standardized methodology for mapping inequity in Jordan. This study entitled: “Mapping of Inequity related to Persons with Disabilities in Jordan” aims at identifying and defining the processes that produce social inequity. The project will also outline the social, cultural, religious, or other factors that mediate between the disadvantaged group and the government. The disadvantaged group that has been chosen for this project is “people with motor/ physical disability”.
